In this guide, we will learn how to setup and use the Advanced Mode features available in ScanLister’s ticket system
Prerequisites
This guide assumes you are already familiar with ScanLister’s ticket system. If you have not already, we recommend starting with the Simple Mode Tutorial: ScanLister Ticket System - Simple Mode - FBM
Advanced Mode
Advanced mode unlocks an inventory system for your listed items. If you use the pick list for your sales, sold items will be automatically removed from your shelved inventory. The inventory system also allows for manual adjustment as well as full import and export capabilities.
Setup
Navigate to “Settings”, then “Tickets” and check this box to enable Advanced Mode.
This is where we set up our shelving / storage for use within the ticket system.
Here is an explanation for each option on this screen.
Sequence Length
This determines the number of numeric digits added to the end of your ticket. We recommend setting this to 3 or higher to avoid duplicate tickets.
Auto Print Ticket
This setting enables auto print for each scanned item.
Show Preview
This setting enables a preview pop up for each ticket before printing.
Shelf Locations
Here you can add all of the shelf locations used to store inventory. We recommend adding each section or shelf to its own line. This way these specific items will be available for selection from the main listing screen and available to assign products to.
In our example, we have 2 shelving units we will call “A” and “B”. Each unit has 3 shelves we will number 1-3.
Active
Here you can toggle whether the shelf location is “active” within the list of available locations on the main screen.
Storage Limit
This sets a limit on the number of items that can be assigned to a given shelf. If your storage needs are predictable, this feature could help you avoid accidentally listing too many products to a single shelf.
Starts At
This will be the starting number for the ticket ID.
Current Ticket #
This column reports the last ticket number created. For example, if you begin with “Starts at” set to “1”, then make tickets for 3 products, the last ticket number would be “3”.
Current Shelf Count
This column shows the current number of items assigned to a given shelf. This can be a useful reference for quick inventory counts!
Side Panel
On the side panel to the right, you have navigation buttons, as well as the import / export buttons. This allows you to work with your shelving layout in Excel format if preferred.
Advanced Ticket Mode Tools
Now that you have enabled Advanced Mode and setup your shelving layout, return to the main screen where you will notice two new options:
Shelf Location Selector
Here is where you select the shelf that you are listing products into.
MF Inventory
Here you can manage your existing ticket inventory.
Inventory Map
This is a dashboard where you can fully manage your inventory. Here you can search and edit locations for existing inventory.
To manually delete an item, simply right click and select “delete selected tickets”.
To move an item to a different shelf, right click and select “move”[
Here you will be able to select from a list of available shelves.
To re-print a ticket, simply select “print” within the right click menu.
You can also manage your inventory in bulk. You can use the export format as a template if you need to use the bulk import feature.
Purge will delete your entire inventory, so be careful with this as there is no going back!
Print Pick List
This prints a current “pick list” for all your unshipped Amazon orders. It serves the purpose of making it easy to pull the orders needed for packing, but also automatically removes those items from your inventory. This is the easiest way to keep your inventory counts accurate. Keep in mind that if you do not use the pick list feature, you must manually remove sold items in order to maintain an accurate inventory.
Example Pick List
Scan/Remove Sold Units
This handy feature allows you to manually update your inventory by scanning the ticket for any sold items. This is especially helpful if you sell on other platforms such as Ebay, where items will not be automatically removed via the Pick List feature, or if you don’t use the picklist. Remember, you can always make updates via the Inventory Map section if needed.
Overview of the Advanced Mode Workflow
List
For each product listed, simply select a shelf location and enter to print a ticket.
Manage
You can use the Inventory Map section to take inventory counts and make adjustments as needed.
Reconcile Sold Items
Each time you use the Pick List for sold items, the sold items are automatically removed from your inventory. Note: This only works for Amazon sales. Alternatively, you can use the “Scan/Remove Sold Units” tool to simply scan the tickets for any sold items to remove them.
