How to Back Up Your ScanLister Data

Backing up your ScanLister data ensures you can restore your listings and settings if anything goes wrong during an update or reinstall.

💾 Why this matters

Your backup file includes both settings and listing data. If you’ve scanned or listed items, a backup allows you to restore that work later.

Backup Steps

1. Open the Backup & Restore screen
   In ScanLister, go to Settings → Utilities → Backup and Restore.
2. Choose where to save the backup
   Click the three dots next to Backup to.
   
3. Select a file location and name
   Choose where you want to save the file and give it a name.
   
   Example: saving to the Desktop with the name SLBackup1-25-2021.
   
4. Complete the backup
   Click Proceed to finish.
   
   Once complete, you’ll see the backup file in the location you selected.

Keep your backup file somewhere safe (Desktop, external drive, or cloud storage) before performing updates or reinstalls.
